Antonio Francesco Gramsci nasce ed Ales, in Sardegna, il 22 gennaio 1891, e a soli due anni si ammala del morbo di Pott. Finite con successo le elementari, la sua condizione economica non gli permette di frequentare gli studi classici, ma con impegno e sacrificio riesce ad iscriversi al Liceo Dottori di Cagliari e diventa subito amico del prof Raffa Garzia, intellettuale e marxista. Diplomatosi nel 1911 riesce ad entrare all’università di Torino grazie ad una borsa di studio, dove non riesce a laurearsi a causa della Prima Guerra Mondiale. Durante questi anni si iscrive al Partito Socialista divenendo nel 1916 giornalista dell’Avanti e fondando il settimanale L’Ordine Nuovo (1919), di tendenza comunista.
Antonio Francesco Gramsci was born in Ales, in Sardinia, on January 22, 1891, and when he was only two years old he fell ill with Pott's disease. After successfully completing elementary school, his economic condition did not allow him to attend classical studies, but with commitment and sacrifice he managed to enroll in the Doctor's High School of Cagliari and immediately became friends with Prof Raffa Garzia, an intellectual and a Marxist. After graduating in 1911 he managed to enter the University of Turin thanks to a scholarship, where he was unable to graduate because of the First World War. During these years he joined the Socialist Party, becoming a journalist for the Avanti in 1916 and founding the weekly L’Ordine Nuovo (1919), with a communist tendency. |
