Mariano Guzzini è stato un industriale recanatese nato nel 1903.
Fin da ragazzo si occupa attivamente della piccola impresa del padre Enrico, nella lavorazione prima del corno, poi del metacrilato. Abile artigiano, esperto e raffinato capace di costruirsi da solo gli stampi per i vari oggetti. Giovanissimo si sposa con Irene, dalla quale avrà sei figli maschi e una femmina.
Nel 1934 con i fratelli Pierino e Silvio, fonda la società Fratelli Guzzini, inserendo nuove materie prime; la Galalite, il Plexiglas infine il Polimetilmetacrilato (PMMA) colato in lastre bicolori. Quest’ultimo ebbe un clamoroso successo.
Nel 1958, i figli decidono di avviare una nuova attività: La Harvey Creazioni, che diventerà i Guzzini Illuminazione.
Nel 1967, Mariano si ritira dall’attività, lasciando tutto ai figli; il suo unico desiderio è che restino sempre uniti e concordi nell’ azienda e nella vita familiare.
Mariano si spegne nel 1988.

 

Mariano Guzzini was an industrialist from Recanati born in 1903.
Since he was a boy he had been actively involved in his father Enrico's small business, first in the processing of horn, then of methacrylate. Skilled craftsman, expert and refined capable of building the molds for the various objects himself. When he was very young he married Irene, with whom he had six sons and a daughter.
In 1934 with the brothers Pierino and Silvio, he founded the Fratelli Guzzini company, introducing new raw materials; Galalite, Plexiglas and finally Polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) cast in two-color plates. The latter was a resounding success.
In 1958, the children decided to start a new business: Harvey Creations, which became the Guzzini Illuminazione.
In 1967, Mariano retired from the business, leaving everything to his children; his only desire was that they always remained united and in agreement in the company and in family life.
Mariano died in 1988.
