Il duomo è la chiesa principale di un centro urbano. È spesso anche la cattedrale della diocesi. La parola duomo deriva dal vocabolo latino domus che nell'antica Roma significava casa. 

The "Duomo" is the main church of an urban center. It is often also the Cathedral of the diocese. The word "Duomo" derives from the Latin word "domus" which in ancient Rome means home.
