Il pozzo medioevale di San Maroto, ancora perfettamente conservato, mostra la precisione e la perizia dei costruttori, capacità ereditate, attraverso i Romani, certamente dagli Etruschi, fra i primi a costruire pozzi e sistemi cunicolari.
